AdBlue is a urea-based fluid injected into the exhaust system of modern diesel vehicles to reduce NOx emissions. It's a legal requirement for Euro 6 and many Euro 5 diesel vehicles. The system works reliably under normal conditions — but it can develop faults related to sensors, pumps, dosing injectors, SCR catalysts, and software calibrations.
We will always tell you if a software solution is not appropriate for your vehicle's specific fault. Some AdBlue system failures are genuine hardware faults — a failed sensor, a blocked injector, a damaged pump — and in those cases, the hardware needs to be addressed before any software work can help. We will not take your money for a software solution that your vehicle doesn't need.
Software solutions that modify or disable emissions control systems (DPF, EGR, AdBlue/SCR) are intended for vehicles used on private land or off-road purposes only. It is illegal under UK law to use a vehicle on public roads with modified or removed emissions control equipment. AdBlue is a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems fitted to Euro 5 and Euro 6 diesel vehicles. It's injected into the exhaust stream to break down harmful NOx emissions.
AdBlue systems are complex and prone to several types of failure. The SCR system involves the AdBlue tank, injection pump, dosing injector, NOx sensors (upstream and downstream), temperature sensors, and the SCR catalyst itself. Any fault in this chain triggers warning messages — and most modern vehicles will impose a countdown to engine immobilisation if the fault isn't resolved.
We specialise in diagnosing and resolving AdBlue system faults for diesel vehicles. Our approach depends entirely on what the fault actually is — we don't offer blanket solutions, we diagnose first.
